ADA Services & Special Accommodations

Pier 17 is an ADA-compliant facility and takes pride in providing service to all guests, including those who require special accommodations.

Entrance
Guests who require special accommodations may enter the venue through our elevators located on Level 1 near the Box Office.

Restrooms
ADA accessible restrooms are located on Level 4.

Seating
For guests requiring ADA seating:

  • General Admission Shows: Purchase a regular general admission ticket online and head to the Box Office the day of your show to be accommodated.
  • Reserved Seated Shows: Reach out directly to info@therooftopatpier17.com to purchase tickets.

Address

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is located at the intersection of Fulton and South Streets, at 89 South Street, New York, NY 10038.

Alcohol Policy

All guests who appear to be forty (40) years of age or younger shall present a valid form of ID with proof of age in order to purchase alcoholic beverages, such as:

Valid US Driver’s License
Valid ID card issued by the US State or Federal Government
Valid US Passport and/or Passport Card
Valid US military ID
Valid Foreign Passport with Age verification

Alcohol sales may be limited per customer, based on the event. Pier 17 reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol to any guest.  Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into Pier 17 or depart with beverages purchased inside.

Our goal is for every guest to enjoy their experience. Our staff reserves the right to eject or deny entry to any guest who appears to be impaired or causing a disturbance to other guests.

Animals

Only trained, licensed and harnessed service or guide animals are permitted onto The Rooftop at Pier 17.

ATM

ATMs are located on Level 1 and Level 4.

Baby Changing Stations

Baby changing stations are located in the family restrooms on Level 4.

Bag Policy

Bags no larger than 14”x14”x6” will be permitted into the venue. All bags will be subject to search, which may delay your entry.

The Rooftop at Pier 17 assumes no responsibility for unattended bags, which may be removed from the premises and destroyed.

Box Office & Will Call

Box Office is located on Pier 17’s ground floor on its west side, closer to Tin Building’s backside.

Hours:
Starting April 1, the Box Office’s normal operating hours are 12:00PM – 6:00PM on Mondays through Saturdays, plus evenings of hosted concerts. 

On select show on sale dates, the Box Office will be open from 10:00AM – 6:00PM.

 

Camera, Photography & Video Equipment

No professional cameras are allowed within rooftop concerts, this includes cameras with interchangeable / detachable lens, lenses over 2.5”, external flash and/or Go Pro cameras.

Video and Audio Equipment, recording devices, selfie sticks, professional cameras (with a lens of 2.5 inches or greater, or a detachable lens) are strictly prohibited at all events.

Management reserves the right to remove any event patrons who interfere with the enjoyment of fellow guests and/or the performer.

Reproduction of photography captured at any event on The Rooftop at Pier 17 for commercial purposes is prohibited without the written consent of the Seaport.

By purchase of your concert ticket, the ticket holder hereby grants permission to The Howard Hughes Corporation and its affiliates to utilize your name, image, likeness, acts, poses, plays, appearance, movements and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the event (regardless of whether before, during or after play or performance) for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, without further authorization from, compensation to, you or anyone acting on your behalf.

Cancelled / Postponed Events

Children Ticket Policy

For all events, children 2 years old and younger may enter the Venue free of charge (with no ticket), however, they must be accompanied by an admission paying adult and share a seat with that accompanying ticketed adult.

Coat Check

There are no coat, bag, or parcel checking facilities available for the public.

Code of Conduct

There is a NO RE-ENTRY policy during events, other than certain exceptions pursuant to management discretion.

In order to keep The Rooftop a friendly and safe environment, our guidelines prohibit the following:

  • Disruptive behavior
  • Failure to follow instructions of event personnel
  • Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures
  • Interference of the event
  • Intoxication or signs of impairment related to drugs or alcohol
  • Sitting in a location other than your ticketed seat
  • Smoking
  • Verbal or Physical harassment of any kind

Concessions / Food

Concessions will be available for purchase on The Rooftop during all ticketed hosted concerts.

No external food, beverage or alcohol are permitted within ticketed events.

Only one reusable water container is permitted per guest but it must be emptied prior to entering the concert venue. Please note, water container policy is subject to change per performing artist’s request.

Water fountains are located on Level 4.

Directions

Perfectly situated in the heart of Lower Manhattan, The Rooftop at Pier 17 is accessible by train, ferry, bus or car.

Elevators

Three passenger elevators are located near the West Entrance of Pier 17 building, and may also be accessed from the Main Entrance by making a left beyond the escalators.

Pier 17 is an ADA-compliant facility and takes pride in providing service to all guests, including those who require special accommodations.

Event guests who require special accommodations may enter the venue through our elevators located on Level 1 near the Box Office.

Emergencies and Evacuation

Should you encounter any kind of emergency, please see your nearest staff member and call 911. In the event of an emergency evacuation, please follow directions of staff members to exit in a calm, orderly and safe manner.

Entrances

The General Admission entrance for The Rooftop is located on the Brooklyn Bridge side of Pier 17. To access, walk towards the water, looping around the East River edge of our building until you reach the Heineken Riverdeck on the Brooklyn Bridge side of Pier 17.

VIP ticket-holders and guests who require special accommodations may enter using the elevators located near the Box Office.

Note, we do not allow fans to campout overnight prior to their attending concert date, but we welcome all fans to arrive the day of their show when Pier 17 opens at 11:00AM. You can head to your event’s webpage or the Concert Series guest experience page for more general information.

Escalators

Public escalators for access to all floors are located in the Atrium of Pier 17.  Please use only designated escalators to The Rooftop, which in most cases will be beyond the security checkpoint on the north side of the building.

Fans Camp Out Pre-Concert

Fans are not allowed to campout on venue property overnight any days prior to their attending concert date, but we welcome all ticket holders to arrive the day of their show when Pier 17 opens at 11:00AM.

First Aid

The safety of our guests is of utmost importance. If you need medical assistance, please see a staff member immediately. EMTs will be present during all publicly ticketed events on The Rooftop.

Concerts on The Rooftop at Pier 17 are general admission standing, unless otherwise noted on the show’s correlating Ticketmaster page.

Health & Safety Policy (Concerts)

Except in the instances where required by an artist or tour of a particular show, currently there are no vaccination or health check requirements to enter The Rooftop at Pier 17.

Inebriated Guests

We on The Rooftop at Pier 17 strive on making every guest enjoy their experience.  Our staff reserves the right to eject or deny entry to any guest who appears to be impaired or causing a disturbance to other guests.

Laptops / Tablets

Laptops or tablets are allowed inside the venue only if 14 inches or smaller. However; guests are not permitted to use these items while standing within the audience area or any location that would disturb other guests’ concert experience.

If need to use your laptop or tablet, we ask to please only use it within seated areas in which your ticket allows access to, or head to the 4th Floor common space.

Merchandise

On event days, specific merchandise booths will be activated. Merchandise booths will be located on the 4th Floor in the Elevator Lobby.

Mobile Ticketing

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is a mobile-ticket venue. Guests are encouraged to download their mobile tickets via the Ticketmaster Mobile App, and then add them to their phone’s wallet prior to their arrival to ensure quickest entry.

Nursing Mothers

A mother may nurse her little one in any public location where she is comfortable and authorized to be. Breast pumps are permitted within the venue.

Nursing mothers who prefer more discreet accommodations are welcome to use the family restrooms.

Private Events

Pier 17, and its various spaces, are available to rent for private events. Please visit Venue Rentals for more information.

Prohibited Items

For safety reasons, guests will be refused entry if they are in possession of any of the below prohibited items. If found inside the venue with a prohibited item, the item will be confiscated and the guest may be ejected.

The following items are NOT permitted:

  • Large bags or backpacks larger than 14″ x 14″ x 6″ in size (only small personal bags or purses are permitted). Some events may enforce a modified bag policy.
  • Cameras with interchangeable/detachable lenses, lenses over 2.5″, or external flash (No professional photography permitted)
  • Audio/visual recording devices or speakers
  • Selfie sticks, tripods, monopods
  • Outside food, beverage, or alcohol
  • Cans, flasks or glass containers
    • Exception: one small water container is permitted per guest, must be empty prior to entry
  • Laptops/computers or tablets that do not fit into a 14″ x 14″ x 6″ bag
  • Two-way radios
  • Weapons (firearms, pepper spray, pocketknives, mace, etc.)
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Flammable liquids, aerosol cans, or permanent markers
  • Flashlights, laser pointers, flares, or fireworks
  • Noise-making devices (i.e. air horns, whistles, bells, vuvuzelas, etc.)
  • Balloons, balls, or projectiles
  • Skateboards, Segways, scooters, rollerblades, bicycles, hoverboards, or strollers
  • Coolers, ice chests, folding chairs, or picnic baskets
  • Drones or remote-controlled aerial devices/toys
  • Animals or pets (only licensed and harnessed service animals are permitted) 
  • Unapproved pamphlets, handouts, ads, or flyers
  • Clothing, garments, or signs displaying explicit language, profanity, or derogatory characterization toward any person(s)
  • Signs, flags, or banners exceeding 11″ x 17″ or attached to a pole/stick. Signs may not display obscene or offensive language and/or pictures. Management reserves the right to prohibit or remove a sign at any time.

The Rooftop at Pier 17 reserves the right to prohibit additional items as deemed necessary or per event requirements. Above prohibited items cannot be checked or stored at Pier 17. It is the sole responsibility of each guest to make proper arrangements prior to arrival at venue to meet event security screening requirements.

Public Access Area

There is a portion of The Rooftop at Pier 17 open to the public daily when the Pier 17 building is open.

Recycling

Pier 17 is committed to keeping the environment clean. Please help by doing your part. Please place all plastic and aluminum bottles and cans in the recycling containers located throughout the building.

Re-Entry Policy

There is a NO RE-ENTRY policy during all ticketed events, other than certain exceptions pursuant to management discretion.

While on non-concert days, The Rooftop at Pier 17 hosts its ultimate outdoor dining retreat, The Greens.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located on Level 4, including Family and Gender Neutral.

Reusable Water Container

One reusable water container is permitted per guest but it must be emptied prior to entering the concert venue.

Water fountains are located on Level 4.

 

Seating

For concerts and events with reserved seating, please refer to your specific events seating chart (or check with a staff member).

Security

All guests will be subject to a security check which will include magnetometers, wands, bag checks, etc. prior to entering the venue. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to account for this process.

Guests refusing to agree to a security check will not be admitted.

Signs

Signs and banners larger than 11″x 17″ in size are not permitted at our rooftop concerts.

No signs with holders or poles are allowed.

Smoking Policy

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is a SMOKE FREE FACILITY, including electronic cigarettes or any similar device. Failure to comply may result in ejection.

Stairways

Stairways are located throughout the facility and are available for exiting ONLY.

Strollers

Strollers are NOT permitted on The Rooftop at Pier 17 during ticketed events.

The Rooftop is not responsible for lost or stolen strollers.

Tickets

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is a Ticketmaster venue. Tickets for the Summer Concert series can be purchased online or at the Pier 17 Box Office. For Box Office hours, please see Box Office.

To avoid problems with counterfeit, stolen or voided tickets, guests are encouraged to purchased their tickets through authorized outlets only. The Rooftop at Pier 17 is unable to assist in validating tickets that were not purchased through an authorized outlet.

Umbrellas

Umbrellas are not permitted for use on The Rooftop at Pier 17. All umbrellas will be zip tied by security prior to the start of the ticketed event and removed upon exiting the venue.

Weather

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is an outdoor venue and shows are rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. On the rare occasion that an event is cancelled or postponed, please visit the specific event’s webpage for further information.

Should lightning become within close proximity, evacuation of The Rooftop will be required and communicated in-person ahead of pending storm for all guests’ safety.

Will call is located at the Box Office on Level 1 (near the West Entrance).
