The 2020 Lineup

Take a Look Back at 2019

The second year of the series saw an incredible lineup of artists from across the musical spectrum grace the stage, with 41 shows in total, kicking off with two sold out shows from fan favorites, Passion Pit, in May.

As the buzz grew throughout the summer, more artists would go on to perform for sold-out crowds on The Rooftop at Pier 17, including one of the year’s biggest chart-toppers, Billie Eilish.

Some of the 32 sold-out shows this season included The Lonely Island, Sheryl Crow, Ringo Starr, The Struts, The Lumineers, Janelle Monáe, Avril Lavigne, and the band closing out the season—Thievery Corporation. As that list alone displays, audiences were able to catch a diverse range of acts throughout the five months of summer entertainment, with pop and rock artists hitting the rooftop as well as bluegrass, R&B and Latin artists.

In a city full of clubs, arenas and stages of all sizes, it’s not necessarily hard to find such a stellar lineup of talent. But, The Rooftop at Pier 17 proved itself to be a concert venue unlike any other in New York City, thanks to its unique location overlooking the East River, with knockout views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Lower Manhattan skyline.

If you missed this year’s action, first of all—we’re sorry we didn’t catch you on the roof! You’ll have to put a Summer Concert at Pier 17 on your 2020 calendar now. And, if you need a little more of a preview of what to expect, here’s what we can tell you:

The Rooftop at Pier 17 is the first of its kind — an open-air rooftop venue spanning 1.5 acres, with room for up to 3,400 people in a concert setting. The 360-degree views of the NYC skyline, a state-of-the-art sound system, and the intimate size of the venue all make it a dream destination to see your favorite band live. Just how special is it? Well, The Rooftop was named the “Best New Concert Venue” for 2018 at the 30th Annual Pollstar Awards.

In addition to the live entertainment, audiences at the Summer Concert Series enjoy premium drink stations and gourmet food trucks on The Rooftop. This summer also saw the debut of the Heineken Green Zone, an exclusive standing fan section with a prime location near the front of the stage and access to dedicated food and beverage stations.
